i recently purchased a cervélo r5 from mike at brooklyn carbon and the experience was 10/10. mike is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly cares deeply about both the bikes he sells and the people riding them. he took the time to give me a complete, detailed rundown of the bike and patiently answered every technical question i had.
what really set the experience apart was his genuine nature and flexibility. he was extremely understanding of my banking limits and helped me navigate a multi-step payment process without any pressure. to top it off, he even dropped the bike off at my place, which was a total logistical life saver. if you’re looking for a high-end bike in nyc and want to buy from someone honest and passionate, mike is your guy. i couldn’t be happier with the new ride!
I recently purchased a Trek Emonda SL6 from Mike. I was new to triathalons and was in need of help finding my first bike. Mike took an intro call with me and gave me a thorough rundown of biking 101. He then listened to me explain my situation and gave me some research recommendations, then met me and let me try out a few bikes he picked out for me. He made sure I was aware of all the trade offs of each and helped me make the best decision based on my preference/needs. He was professional, extremely knowledgeable, and kind. Would recommend buying through him for any carbon bike needs you have.
Bike is in fantastic condition and purchased at a steal price!
Found Mike online and texted him about an endurance road bike. He was responsive, asked the right questions, and quickly narrowed it down to the right bike for my needs.
It was raining the day we met, so Mike took me to the covered IKEA parking lot to test ride - great problem-solving! He walked me through everything in detail. Really patient and thorough, especially for someone with limited road bike experience. Never felt rushed or pressured.
Ended up buying the bike at a fair price. It’s in excellent shape mechanically and cosmetically, exactly as described. Mike is the real deal - knowledgeable, straightforward, and genuinely cares about getting you on the right bike. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality used carbon in NYC.
Best place to buy a bike in nyc. I went to a ton of shops that just started giving me prices. The owner Misha spent over an hour on the phone explaining every component of a bike in detail. He made the buying process very easy and made sure the bike was a great fit. He also gave a full tutorial into maintenance for the bike. Highly recommend.
This service is 100% amazing. Give Mike a call, tell him what you are interested in, and he will set up a time for you to test out bikes for hours and for free. If you find something you like, the prices are incredibly reasonable and you have a 6 months trade in-option.
It was such a blessing when I found BCB. I spent weeks traveling to bike shops who wanted to oversell me bikes I didn't really want. I knew I wanted a a Carbon-Fibre road bike, and I knew I wanted something extremely nice and affordable. This is the best place to purchase such a bike. Even cooler, Mike was extremely available, personable, and threw in some free accessories to help me get my kit starter.
I've put at least 2,000 miles on my bike in the first year. Thank you BCB!
Absolutely amazing. I forgot that such humans can ever exist. So reliable, so flexible, so trustworthy. Anything for me to have the best experience purchasing my first bike. Misha let me try multiple bikes, helped me with shipping the bike back to my origin country, I am genuinely out of words from how generous this man is. If you read this and want to consult before buying a bike from misha, feel free to email me at [****] , Ravid.
Thank you Mike for your fast and safe shipping. Your focus on carbon bikes made my decision of buying a carbon bike an ease. Thank you for your fast responses. I am looking forward to getting my bike out in the Pacific Northwest.
Mike is great to deal with - knowledgeable, patient, helpful, accommodating and no pressure! I am fairly new to cycling. I called Mike and told him I was riding an older bike and was ready to upgrade but not sure to what. He brought several bikes for me to try. He patiently explained the differences. I liked one of the bikes but wasn't sure. We met a second time and I ended up buying the bike. Very happy I did! I highly recommend Mike and BCBC.
I was looking for a bike and had no idea what I wanted. Mike took the time to educate me and fit me for the perfect Bike. I am extremely pleased and just bought my 2nd bike. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a bike to work with Mike 1st!!
Mike was extremely helpful with the bike selection process, allowing me 2+ hours to go through as many bikes as I was curious about. Settled on a Specialized SL5, and tire went flat in first week. Mike got me an extra tube, and went through the trouble of helping me with fixing the flat, even though I had already purchased the bike. Truly couldn’t recommend him enough - knowledgeable, helpful, super friendly.
I’ve purchased two bikes from Mike - a Specialized SL6 last year for myself and a Cannondale Synapse this year for my girlfriend. Both times were a 10/10 experience. Mike is knowledgeable, straightforward, and clearly cares about getting you on the right bike rather than just making a sale. The process was smooth, communication was great, and he made sure everything was dialed in perfectly. Couldn’t recommend him more highly.
Working with Mike was a great experience! He considered my needs, brought some options for me to try, answered all of my questions, and made sure the bike was the right fit. I ended up getting a sweet deal on a barely used Cannondale Synapse. Highly recommend!
"You never know what's under the hood," said my coach when I told him about wanting to buy a used bike. After checking dozens of websites, he finally said, "I like this one", pointing to BMC, from the Brooklyn Carbon Bike. "It seems like the guy who runs it knows what he does," he added, pointing to the website's clear structure and peculiar details related to each bike on sale.
When I reached Mike, he said, "I can pick you up at the airport". The guy is so responsive because he wants to sell his product. Later, I realised how wrong I was with my assumption.
First, he was very flexible. Despite my rescheduling our first meeting twice, he always replied sensibly and with compassion (I flew to the US from another part of the world). Second, which stood out even more profoundly to me, he thoroughly responded to all my questions, spending almost 1 hour explaining every detail one should be mindful of when purchasing a bike (the sign of a seasoned cycling enthusiast).
Lastly, be very cautious - you are about to obtain a good friend. Here are at least two reasons why: 1. Mike has never rejected any of my requests (whether it's a bike-related (bike fit, shop) or other suggestions (in my case, advice regarding obtaining a mortgage) and always gave a valuable response; 2. The service was truly personalized, as Mike helped me not only be prepared for my first Half Ironman but also helped me pack the bike for my flight back (taking into consideration allowable suitcase requirements).
Mike, thank you. See you next time I'm in the US, brother.
Mike did an amazing job of orienting me to the bicycle, discussing different options, and making sure I understood the machine I was purchasing. Excellent price for a used high-end road bike, and love that he provides an official receipt for insurance purposes! Thanks Mike!
Could not have asked for better experience with Mike! He came to me with several amazing options for bikes and allowed me to truly take my time in choosing an option that fit my needs. He is insanely knowledgeable and helpful in the process for someone so new like myself.
I met Mike through GPT😀
I contacted him to buy an upgraded but not new road bike, Mike offered me a wide range of road bikes on WhatsApp and in calls to Israel,
I met Mike in Manhattan
who came with several bikes that could suit my riding and budget, with a detailed explanation of each pair of bikes, their advantages and disadvantages. After I chose the bikes, I sat with them for a test and inspection until my return flight.
Mike arrived at the hotel and packed the bike for me
I simply have no words to express my gratitude to Mike.
AMAZING! So helpful and knowledgeable. I am newer to road biking and Mike was a great introduction to the sport. Thank u!!
Received my bike today from BCBC — a 2023 Trek Emonda ALR. It arrived partially disassembled and wrapped in a ton of foam for protection. As expected, I had to reinstall the handlebars, front tire, seat, etc. — all minor stuff. No problem for me. I figured I’d take the time to check its condition and make sure all the components were tightened to spec.
I did find some noticeable mar at the bottom of the front fork and on either side of the rear axle — through the paint and down to the aluminum. Not visible from a distance (or in the pictures online…), but easy to see up close. I thought, "Whatever, I got the bike for what I considered a good deal, and now I’ll baby it less and won’t panic when I add a few of my own."
The really frustrating part is the rear hydraulic brake line. It’s maybe 4–5 inches too long, so it sticks out and twists awkwardly between where it exits the headtube and enters the handlebar grip. Worse, it has a couple of deep kinks — like "folded in half" kinks — the kind that mean I should replace the brake line entirely.
What I thought was a good deal now feels less like one, as it's costing me time and more money because the bike didn’t arrive in the condition it was advertised. They did send me pedals I didn’t order — a nice gesture, I guess — but they’re pedals I don’t need. Really I’d rather return them in exchange for a properly installed brake line.
Overall, I’m happy to finally have the bike of my dreams. But I’m disappointed it’s already headed to the local shop for repairs, given how it arrived compared to how BCBC described it.
The Team at Brooklyn Carbon was great to work with. I found my bike through Facebook Marketplace and had a buddy of mine do extensive research on the operation while I did my own. Buying a bike online can be sketchy, even more so when you put Carbon into the equation.
What we found was a communicative, accurate, and trustworthy vendor for 2nd hand carbon bikes that deliver on-time or ahead of time. The bike was delivered with great care (wrapped with paper, foam, and spacers as needed) and a nice, thick box as well. I had no issues with the quality of the bike upon assembly - everything appears to be accurate to my bike's posted description.
I have gotten some great miles in already and am only regretting not upgrading my bike sooner.
Thank you to the team!
I rode my Trek Madone 5.2—purchased from Mike last year—on the 5 Boro NYC Bike Tour on May 4, 2025, in rainy and slippery conditions. The bike performed flawlessly, with fantastic handling, speed, and reliability that truly stood out. Thank you, Mike, for not only a great bike but also for your continued support!
After scouring the used market for six months for a particular bike, I found one at Brooklyn Carbon. Mike was a pleasure to work with, very responsive to my texts/emails, gave me all the information I asked for. Then, me being from out of town, Mike re-arranged his schedule to bring the bike closer to me, saving me 2-3 hours worth of driving. Very knowledgeable, and the bike was in terrific condition, as advertised. He gave me all the time I wanted to test ride. I will gladly recommend him to my friends.
I had an amazing experience at Brooklyn Carbon Bike thanks to Mike, the owner. He was incredibly knowledgeable and truly went above and beyond to help me choose the perfect bike. Mike allowed me to test ride three different bikes for about an hour, which made a huge difference in finding the right fit. On top of that, he gave me a crash course on road cycling and walked me through every single detail of the purchase. His attention to detail, patience, and genuine passion for cycling made the entire buying experience absolutely top tier. Mike is the best—highly recommend Brooklyn Carbon Bikes!
Brooklyn Carbon delivers exceptional service and expertise. Mike’s professionalism and deep knowledge of cycling made the entire process less overwhelming. He talked me through all the options and helped me find the perfect bike. I highly recommend Mike and Brooklyn Carbon for anyone seeking a new bicycle.
Mike is very knowledgeable in the bikes he sells from specs thru models and what will be best for the client. I am a new road cyclist and he was very helpful with explaining the differences in frames, brands, etc. Ultimately, he helped me prioritize COMFORT over brand. His prices are great, helpful with drop off, recommended the best bike maintenance guy, and more.
Lastly, he helped me navigate being overcharged by a biking repair company for cost and is very understanding. I will 100% continue working with Mike when finding the best solutions for this new purchase and have forwarded a good friend of mine looking for a new bike as well!
It’s great that Mike is a cyclist himself and cares more about his clients than the price. All around? Great deals, great selection and honest person. Any friend of mine I will 100% forward them to Mike!
I traveled from Argentina to New York for tourism and decided to buy a bike because I love this sport. I found Mike online and went straight to him. In the end, I didn't buy one bike; I bought two and took them back to Argentina with me.
The condition and care of the bikes is excellent, impeccably packed for transport on the plane.
But above all, I want to highlight Mike's kindness, cordiality, and empathy.
Without even knowing him, he inspired my confidence from the start. He did hundreds of favors for me, and I felt very safe and happy doing business with him.
Brooklyn Carbon is highly recommended.
